How can I use my existing domain name with Pixelsilk?
It’s important that any existing domain names be tied into your Pixelsilk site – even if you are re-branding or choosing a new primary domain.
It’s important that any existing domain names be tied into your Pixelsilk site – even if you are re-branding or choosing a new primary domain. This helps to maintain inbound traffic, links, and positive reputation that you have already built.
The most complete and recommended way to use your existing domain is to transfer the Registrar of Record to Pixelsilk . While you remain legal Registrant (owner) of the domain name at all times, Pixelsilk will have full technical access to the name in order to provide you with the highest level of customer service. (Note: if your name is registered for multiple years at the current registrar, those years will move with the name when the transfer is completed). To proceed, your account representative can put you in touch with a transfer steward who will help you through the process.
We understand that companies with dedicated IT staff or large domain portfolios may not wish to transfer registrars. For these cases, it is possible to point the domain name to Pixelsilk at the DNS (Domain Name Service) level. This method does not relinquish full technical control to Pixelsilk , and instead retains certain support and maintenance roles for your team. To proceed, please contact your account representative for the appropriate DNS parameters.
